Peacock Plant
The Peacock plant's big, bold, and colorful leaves will make a statement in any room. Calathea Peacocks are native to Brazil, but they have grown in popularity world-wide with their wide, watermelon like leaves. Being a low-light plant, these are easy to grow in most rooms in the house, but they do prefer more humid environments.
Difficulty: Medium
Light: Low to Medium Indirect Light
Water: Moderate. Keep soil moist but ensure not to overwater.
Pet Friendly: Non-toxic to pets
Care Instructions:
Low to medium indirect light and proper watering are the most important steps to keep your Peacock happy. Water your plant when the top few inches become dry. Overwatering will lead to yellowing leaves or blackened stems. Underwatering can be identified by browning leaves or wilting. Additionally, to wash out salt, it is recommended that you flush the soil every few months.
